The GP is a guardian and companion -- extremely intelligent and alert. If you are looking for a baby-sitter for your children; a dog that will tolerate much physical and mental abuse....... "A GERMAN PINSCHER IS NOT FOR YOU!"

You need a certain type of strength, both mental and physical, to control a German Pinscher. They need LEADERSHIP tempered with patience, respect, intelligence and love.    If you are NOT strong of mind and body; lacking patience and calm temperament; unable to SAY "NO " and mean it; have no interest  in training......... "A GERMAN PINSCHER IS NOT FOR YOU!"

If your life-style is such that friends, relatives and children gain admittance to your home, property and car without your supervision........ "A GERMAN PINSCHER IS NOT FOR YOU!"

If you work and must be away from home all day, and out several nights each week, a "ceramic German Pinscher Statue" would be a far better investment. A statue requires occasional dusting and will not chew, destroy or dig holes out of boredom and does not require the care, love and training so necessary in raising a German Pinscher. If you have little time to do more than feed and let the dog out......... "A GERMAN PINSCHER IS NOT FOR YOU!"

If you think a backyard breeding will bring profitable end result, or if you just want to breed to keep a puppy........ "A GERMAN PINSCHER IS NOT FOR YOU!" Lack of knowledge, dedication and financial means will become a tremendous burden and the puppies will suffer the consequences of greed, ignorance and exploitation. The dedicated German Pinscher breeders do NOT want to see the same thing happen to this bred as has been the fate of the Doberman Pinscher.

Many Doberman Rescue Squads are very active in the adoption of misplaced- mistreated Dobes that are picked up daily. The reason...... DISINTERESTED owners who felt their Dobes should run free to be teased and tormented by children,  eat contaminated garbage and /or risk injury or death on the streets. When restriction of the dog is enforced by neighbors and/or animal control, the Dobe is chained to a pole, or thrown in the back yard, infested with fleas, ticks and parasites - forgotten and neglected. These were cute, adorable little puppies brought into homes of people that were unaware that "A DOBERMAN WAS NOT FOR THEM!!!!"

If you have given serious thought to all that you have just read and find that you do NOT fall into any of the above categories....... READ ON . There is yet another group - the Breeders and Owners of German Pinschers - who have pride, respect and admiration for the Breed.

Most important is the BREEDER who is striving for perfection, dedicated to the welfare and upgrading of the breed. Pet Shops and Backyard breeders know little or nothing about bloodlines, faults, hip dysplasia, temperament and the importance of screening prospective owners. A reputable breed does, and they follow through with good care, lots of love and proper socialization of their puppies - the cost of which many times exceeds the money paid at the time the puppy is sold. These pups are destined to reach their full potential when placed in the right homes.

IF you have decided that ....... "A GERMAN PINSCHER IS FOR YOU", we hope this information has helped you to realize that the GP is not a "happening", ......... rather a culmination of knowledge, time, and effort and always LOVE, with the return far greater than anything that is given.
